Instructions for Opening and Saving .CSV and .DBF files
- After saving the file to your computer's hard drive, open Microsoft Excel or other spreadsheet software.
- Within the program, choose "File" and then "Open" to open the file.
- When the window comes up you must locate the directory to which you saved the file.
- Next, change your "Files of Type" selection to "All Files (*.*)". You should now see the file you saved appear within the window.
- You should be able to click on that file and choose "Open". The data should then open and appear in your spreadsheet software.
- Save the file by selecting "File", "Save As..." and whatever type of file you would like this file saved as. For example, if you would like to save this file as an Excel spreadsheet file (.xls), you would need to change the "Save as type" selection to "Microsoft Excel Workbook".
- Finally, name the file anything you would like and click "Save". You should now be able to use the data in the file any way you would like to format or merge for labels or letters.
