The Care Guide is the official consumer guide to seniors’ housing and care services for the following organizations:
 

Ontario Retirement Communities Association (ORCA)

ORCA is a voluntary, non-profit organization that sets professional operating standards, inspects and accredits retirement residences in Ontario. Not all retirement residences are ORCA approved, only those that meet and maintain ORCA's comprehensive set of professional standards. More than 22,000 Ontario seniors live in ORCA approved retirement residences.
 
 

Ontario Community Support Association (OCSA)

OCSA is a provincial association, located in Toronto, that supports, promotes and represents the common goals of its members, which are providers of community-based not-for-profit health and social services, so that they are better able to support people to live at home in their own communities.
 
 

Alzheimer Society of Ontario

The Alzheimer Society of Ontario's vision is a world without Alzheimer Disease and related disorders. Its mission is to alleviate the personal and social consequences of Alzheimer Disease and related disorders and to promote research. The role of the Alzheimer Society of Ontario is to collaborate with all levels of the organization in order to foster excellence in services, education and research.
 
 

Older Adults Centres’ Association of Ontario (OACAO)

The OACAO is an incorporated non-profit provincial organization and a registered charity. The OACAO ensures that older adults in Ontario have opportunities and choices that lead to healthy and active lifestyles. The OACAO has a membership of 110 - centres, organizations and individuals involved in working with older adults. Over 80 older adult centres represent 300 staff and 100,000 older adults across Ontario.
 
 

Ontario Gerontology Association (OGA)

The OGA is committed to working with all stakeholders to improve the quality of life for older adults by advancing the teaching, learning and practice of gerontology in the province. The OGA will be the leader in making gerontology essential to the health, social and education sectors.
 
 

Alberta Senior Citizens' Housing Association (ASCHA)

ASCHA is a voluntary, non-profit association that represents and provides services to all types of congregate seniors housing operators in Alberta. They offer information on over 600 seniors housing residences and will soon be able to let you know which residences offer high operating standards. They also offer general seniors housing industry information to the public and specific information to our members in the members only area.
 
 

British Columbia Seniors Living Association (BCSLA)

The BCSLA (formerly the BCRCA) is a group of owners and operators of market-driven Retirement Communities providing choice in accommodation, hospitality and personal care services. They provide leadership and networking for their members who are committed to innovation, resident choice and excellence. Formed with the purpose of changing the way people view aging in our society, BCSLA represents retirement communities that reflect the evolving needs and desires of seniors.

Ontario Long Term Care Association (OLTCA)

The OLTCA is the largest organization of long-term care providers in Ontario. Its’ member homes are regulated by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and provide care and accommodation services to residents throughout Ontario.
 
 

Ontario Association of Non-Profit Homes & Services for Seniors (OANHSS)

OANHSS is a provincial association that has represented not-for-profit providers of long term care, services and housing for seniors for over 85 years. Members include municipal and charitable homes for the aged, non-profit nursing homes, seniors’ housing projects and community service agencies.
 
 

Ontario Home Care Association (OHCA)

The OHCA is an organization of home health and social care service providers. Association members deliver nursing care, home support services, personal care, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, social work, dietetics, speech language therapy and medical equipment in the home. Ontario Home Care Association members are contracted by all three levels of government, Community Care Access Centres, insurance companies, institutions, corporations and private individuals.
 
 

Ontario Association of Community Care Access Centres (OACCAC)

The OACCAC serves as a collective voice for the contribution made by CCACs to an integrated health care system; and to provide leadership, inspiration and evidence-based outcomes in support of innovative and cost-effective community health care services. They also work to advance excellence in community health care in support of CCACs and the clients they serve.
 
 

Hospice Association of Ontario (HAO)  

The HAO's mission is to ensure that their members consistently deliver the finest end-of-life care possible to individuals with life-threatening conditions, their families and friends. HAO is now Canada’s largest volunteer hospice organization and our members have become the largest direct service providers within Ontario’s voluntary health care sector.
 
 

Association of Discharge Planning Coordinators of Ontario (ADPCO)

The mandate of ADPCO in conjunction with The Canadian Association of Discharge Planning And Continuity of Care (CADPACC) includes the development of guidelines and standards for practice and the establishment of educational programs for its members. "Guidelines and Standards For Discharge Planning Coordinators", developed for the Canadian Council on Health Services Accreditation, drives the practice across Canada.
 
 

Alberta Continuing Care Association (ACCA) 

The ACCA (formerly the ALTCA) is a non-profit Volunteer organization representing Continuing Care facility owners and operators of private, public and voluntary sectors throughout the province of Alberta. Their priority is providing care. Association members are highly regulated and operate under the Alberta Nursing Homes Act, the Hospital's Act as well as the standards set by the Health Regions. Continuing Care facilities have a significant role in providing health Care and accommodations to elderly and disabled Albertans.
 
 

BC Care Providers Association (BC Care)  

BC CARE is an association of independently owned organizations that provide quality community care and services to seniors in British Columbia. They are a membership-driven non-profit society and have represented independently owned health care providers since 1977. The mandate of the Association is to represent all community care providers, both private and non-profit.
 
 

Canadian Home Care Association (CHCA)  

The CHCA is a national not-for-profit membership Association dedicated to ensuring the availability of accessible, responsive home care and community supports which enable people to stay in their homes with safety, dignity and quality of life. The CHCA represents over 600 organizations involved in home and community care across Canada. Their members include representatives from publicly funded home care programs, federal government, provincial and territorial governments, not-for-profit and proprietary service providers, consumers, equipment suppliers, pharmaceutical manufacturers, researchers, educators and others with an interest in home care.
